Local moves

North Redondo to Hollywood Riviera — South Bay moves

Redondo Beach sits in the South Bay between Hermosa Beach and Torrance — a coastal city split into two distinct halves. South Redondo hugs the coast with the historic Esplanade, the Pier, and the upscale Hollywood Riviera climbing into the hills.

North Redondo is more dense and inland — walk-up apartments, condos, and townhomes on tight blocks. The Avenues (Ave A through Ave I) form a grid of older single-family homes and small apartment buildings. The Village and King Harbor have high-rise condos with freight elevators and HOA rules.

We drive in from our Pasadena base every week. Book with us and you get a crew that knows the Esplanade parking rules, the King Harbor freight-elevator schedules, and the Hollywood Riviera hill streets.

Redondo Beach work leans toward Riviera Village walk-street condos and the dense apartments near the pier, where parking runs tight and carries run long.

What we move

How we move in Redondo Beach

Four Redondo Beach move types we handle weekly — with prep details.

Esplanade & Pier-area condos

Mid-rise and high-rise condos along the coast with freight elevators, HOA reservations. We coordinate it before move day.

Hollywood Riviera hill homes

Estates on winding hill streets with steep driveways and narrow turns. We bring the right truck size for the block and handle long carries built into the quote.

North Redondo apartments

Walk-ups and small apartment buildings with narrow stairwells and tight street parking. We work fast and keep your unit clean for deposit return.

The Avenues family homes

Single-family 1940s–60s homes on the grid blocks of Aves A–I. Easy truck access, deep yards, and a clean efficient move every time.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Redondo Beach move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

The Esplanade, Pier blocks, and King Harbor sometimes need temporary parking permits — request 5-7 business days ahead. Residential Avenues usually don’t.

06

Talk to your building manager

King Harbor and Esplanade condos need elevator reservations and HOA notice. Give your HOA about a week of notice.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule California Water Service, SCE, and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need a parking permit in Redondo Beach?
Towers and gated communities run on logistics: freight-elevator reservations, posted move-in windows, gate codes, and loading-bay timing. We coordinate it all with building management or your HOA before move day so the crew isn't held up at the gate or the dock. Give your building about a week of notice so the elevator and your move-in window are locked in.
Can you handle Hollywood Riviera hill moves?
Yes — Hollywood Riviera hill streets are a regular part of our schedule. Winding streets, steep driveways, and homes built into the slope all factor in. We bring smaller trucks when streets call for it and our crews handle long carries built into the quote.
Do you serve Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Torrance?
Yes. Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes, and El Segundo are all part of our regular Redondo Beach service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these South Bay cities is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
