Local moves

Every Irvine village plays by its own HOA rules

Irvine isn't laid out like the rest of LA or OC — it's a master-planned city of villages, each with its own HOA, rules, and aesthetic. Woodbridge, Northwood, Quail Hill, Turtle Rock, Portola Springs, Westpark — each one has different gate codes, guest passes, and elevator reservation systems.

UCI student moves drive a big chunk of summer demand, especially around University Park. Most apartment complexes have strict move-in / move-out windows and elevator timing rules.

We make the drive from our Pasadena base into OC every week. Book with us and you get a crew that already knows the village system, your HOA's specific rules, and the building manager you'll need to coordinate with.

What we move

Irvine moves we handle weekly

Irvine’s four most common move types — each village brings different challenges.

Woodbridge family homes

Master-planned community with HOA rules on truck access and load-time windows. We coordinate with the HOA management office before move day so guards and gates know we're coming.

Quail Hill apartment moves

Modern apartment complexes with strict move-in / move-out time slots, elevator reservations. We book the elevator and confirm the move-in window before move day.

Turtle Rock townhomes

Hillside townhomes with stairs from the garage to the living area. Our crews handle the stair runs without hourly surprises — built into the upfront quote.

UCI student moves

Dorm-to-apartment, off-campus housing transitions, end-of-quarter moves. Studio and 1-BR rates that work for student budgets, and same-week booking is usually possible.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Irvine move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Most Irvine villages are HOA-managed — coordinate truck access and gate codes with your village management 5-7 days ahead, instead of a city permit.

06

Talk to your building manager

Irvine apartments and condos require strict move-in time windows, elevator reservations. Each village has different rules — call ahead to coordinate.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule Irvine Ranch Water District and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need to notify my HOA in Irvine?
Yes — almost every Irvine village has an HOA with truck-access rules, gate-code requirements, and sometimes elevator reservation systems. We work with the HOA management office before move day so the guards know we're coming, the gates open, and the elevator is locked when we arrive. Tell us your village when booking and we handle the rest.
Can you handle UCI student moves?
Yes — UCI student moves are a big part of our summer and end-of-quarter schedule. Dorm-to-apartment, apartment-to-storage, off-campus housing transitions. Studio and 1-BR rates make sense for student budgets, and same-week booking is usually possible if you call early in the week.
Do you serve Tustin, Newport Beach, and Lake Forest?
Yes. Tustin, Newport Beach, Lake Forest, Costa Mesa, and Mission Viejo are all part of our regular Irvine service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these cities and Irvine is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
