Local moves

Two sides of Costa Mesa, both move differently

Costa Mesa is two cities in one. Eastside Costa Mesa is quiet and residential — 1950s cottages, narrow streets, deep yards, and tree canopy that requires careful truck positioning. Westside Costa Mesa is the food and arts hub — denser, more apartments, and the restaurant scene around 17th Street.

Mesa Verde sits in the middle with classic mid-century family homes on wide streets. The South Coast Metro area has corporate offices, condos, and the South Coast Plaza shopping district — different rules than residential blocks.

We make the drive from Pasadena into OC every week. Book with us and you get a crew that already knows the difference between an Eastside cottage move and a South Coast Metro corporate move.

What we move

Costa Mesa moves — from cottages to corporate

Four Costa Mesa moves we know — from quiet residential to corporate offices.

Eastside cottages

Quiet residential blocks with narrow streets, tree canopy, and 1950s cottages with original floors. We pad floors and door frames; positioning the truck right is half the job.

Westside apartments

Denser blocks near 17th Street and the food scene. Tight street parking and sometimes alley loading. We bring the right truck for the block and handle short carries with dollies.

Mesa Verde family homes

Mid-century family homes on wide streets with easy truck access. Big homes, so we send the right crew size to finish in the time we quoted.

South Coast Metro corporate moves

Office and condo moves near South Coast Plaza. Freight elevators, and after-hours timing for office moves — we plan for all of it before move day.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Costa Mesa move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Westside Costa Mesa and South Coast Metro sometimes need temporary parking permits — request 5-7 business days ahead. Eastside residential streets usually don't.

06

Talk to your building manager

Costa Mesa apartments, condos, and South Coast Metro buildings often have specific move-in rules — elevator reservations, time windows. Call ahead so move day isn't held up.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule Mesa Water District and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need a parking permit in Costa Mesa?
Most Costa Mesa residential blocks don't require moving permits, but denser areas (Westside near 17th Street, parts of Eastside) sometimes need curb reservations. We tell you when booking if your address needs one and handle the City of Costa Mesa paperwork. Office moves near South Coast Plaza often need different coordination.
Can you handle South Coast Metro corporate office moves?
Yes — office and condo moves near South Coast Plaza are a regular part of our OC schedule. Freight elevators, after-hours scheduling, and IT-equipment handling are all standard for us. We work with building management to coordinate timing.
Do you serve Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, and Santa Ana?
Yes. Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Santa Ana, Fountain Valley, and Irvine are all part of our regular Costa Mesa service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these cities and Costa Mesa is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
