Local moves

Downtown high-rises to Verdugo hillsides

Glendale mixes everything. Downtown Glendale is full of high-rise condos near the Americana at Brand with strict freight-elevator reservations and HOA loading rules. Up the hills — Adams Hill, Chevy Chase Canyon, Verdugo Woodlands — winding streets and steep driveways change which truck we bring.

Montrose and La Crescenta in the north are quieter family neighborhoods with deep lots and easier access. Rossmoyne and Sparr Heights sit somewhere in between — historic Spanish revival homes with narrow doorways and original tile.

We're a 626-based crew working Glendale every week — six miles from our Pasadena base. Book with us and you get movers who know your specific street, your building, and the right approach for the move.

Glendale moves run from the Adams Hill and Rossmoyne view homes down to the dense Brand Boulevard and Americana-area apartments, with steep grades on the north end.

What we move

Common Glendale moves we handle

The four most common moves we handle in Glendale — and how we plan.

Downtown Glendale high-rise condos

Freight elevator reservations, HOA loading rules, and tight downtown street parking. We coordinate with building management before move day so nothing slows you down.

Adams Hill family homes

Steep driveways, narrow streets, and homes built into the hillside. We bring the right truck for the street — sometimes a smaller box truck works better than a full mover.

Verdugo Woodlands hillside houses

Winding canyon roads and homes with elevation changes between curb and front door. Our crews are used to stair runs and long carries — built into the quote up front.

Montrose & La Crescenta moves

Family homes with deep yards and easy access. Two- to three-day moves often — we send a crew sized to finish in the time we quoted.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Glendale move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Downtown Glendale and busy commercial corridors near the Americana often need a temporary parking permit — request 5-7 business days ahead.

06

Talk to your building manager

Glendale apartments and condos often have specific move-in rules — elevator reservations, time windows, freight elevator pads. Call ahead so move day isn't held up at the front desk.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule Glendale Water and Power and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need a parking permit in Glendale?
Downtown Glendale and busier commercial corridors near the Americana sometimes require curb permits — we'll tell you when booking if your address needs one and handle the City of Glendale paperwork. Hill access (Adams Hill, Verdugo Woodlands, Chevy Chase) isn't a problem; we bring smaller trucks when streets call for it.
Can you handle high-rise condo moves Downtown?
Yes — Downtown Glendale high-rises are a regular part of our schedule. We coordinate freight elevator times with building management, bring elevator pads, and stage furniture in the loading bay so we're not blocking the lobby. HOA paperwork is something we handle for you.
Do you serve Montrose, La Crescenta, and La Cañada too?
Yes. Montrose, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, Tujunga, and Eagle Rock are all in our regular Glendale service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these cities and Glendale is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
