Naples Island to Bixby Knolls — Long Beach moves

Long Beach is a different kind of LA — port city, beach city, and dense urban core all in one. Downtown Long Beach and the East Village Arts District are full of high-rise condos and converted lofts. Tight street parking near the Aquarium and Pine Avenue means we plan loading carefully.

Belmont Shore and Naples Island are walkable beach neighborhoods — narrow streets, small homes, and the Naples canals where gondola access matters more than truck access. Bixby Knolls sits north with historic Spanish revival homes and tree-lined streets that need careful approach.

We drive down from our Pasadena base every week. Book with us and you get a crew that knows your building's loading rules, your beach-block parking restrictions, and which approach to your driveway actually works.

What we move

Long Beach moves we do every week

Four Long Beach move types we do weekly — and the planning each takes.

Downtown high-rise condos

Freight elevators, and HOA loading windows. We work with building management before move day so the elevator is locked, the loading bay is ours, and we move fast.

Belmont Shore beach homes

Narrow streets, alley loading, and small beach houses with tight stairwells. We bring smaller trucks when 2nd St. parking is the only option — built into the plan.

Naples Island canal homes

Gondola streets, no direct truck access to some homes, and short walks from the parking spot to the door. We coordinate loading hubs and use dollies for the longer carries.

Bixby Knolls historic Spanish

Original tile floors, narrow doorways, and detached garages. We pad floors and door frames on the way in and out — historic detail intact.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Long Beach move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Downtown Long Beach, East Village, and beach blocks (Belmont Shore, Naples) often need temporary parking permits — request 5-7 business days ahead.

06

Talk to your building manager

Long Beach apartments and condos often have specific move-in rules — elevator reservations, time windows, freight elevator pads. Call ahead so move day isn't held up at the front desk.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule Long Beach Utilities and Southern California Edison to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need a parking permit in Long Beach?
Downtown Long Beach, the East Village, and beach blocks (Belmont Shore, Naples) sometimes require curb permits for moving trucks. We tell you when booking if your address needs one and handle the City of Long Beach paperwork. Beach-block street sweeping schedules matter too — we plan around them.
Can you handle Naples Island canal-street moves?
Yes. Naples Island has narrow streets where the truck has to park on the bridge or main road, and we carry to the door with dollies. We've done plenty of these — works fine, just takes a bit longer than a curbside move. Built into the quote up front.
Do you serve Signal Hill, Lakewood, and Seal Beach?
Yes. Signal Hill, Lakewood, Seal Beach, San Pedro, and Carson are all part of our regular Long Beach service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these cities and Long Beach is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
