Local moves

Ventura Boulevard condos to Encino Hills estates

Encino is a city of two halves. North of Ventura BoulevardAmestoy Estates, Encino Village, and the blocks toward Balboa — runs flat with big ranch homes on wide lots. South of Ventura the land climbs into the Encino Hills, full of gated estates, long private driveways, and view homes reaching toward Mulholland.

Along the boulevard there are mid-rise condos with freight elevators and HOA loading rules. The estates south of Ventura mean bigger homes, more to move, and careful protection for the kind of furniture and art this neighborhood is full of.

We're a Pasadena-based crew, and Encino is part of our regular Valley route. Book with us and you get movers who know which hill streets need the smaller truck, which gated communities need advance notice, and how to wrap and move a full estate without a wasted hour.

Encino work divides between the roomy flatland lots south of Ventura and the gated Encino Hills estates, where long private driveways mean we clear access before the truck arrives.

What we move

How we move in Encino

Four kinds of Encino moves we handle, each with its own plan.

Amestoy Estates ranch homes

Large single-story homes on wide lots with deep yards and two-car driveways. Easy truck access but lots to move — we send the right crew size so the day stays on schedule.

Encino Hills estates

Gated entries, long private driveways, and view homes built into the slope. We coordinate access with property managers, bring the right truck for the road, and protect heavy art and antiques along the way.

Ventura Boulevard condos

Mid-rise buildings with freight elevators and HOA loading windows. We book the elevator and confirm the move-in window before move day so building security has no surprises.

Full-home estate moves

Bigger homes mean more furniture, more boxes, and more to protect. We pad, wrap, and inventory everything room by room and send a crew sized to finish in the time we quoted.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Encino move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Ventura Boulevard blocks and tight Encino Hills streets sometimes need a temporary LADOT no-parking permit — request 5-7 business days ahead if your address calls for one.

06

Talk to your building manager

Encino condos and gated communities often have specific move-in rules — elevator reservations, time windows, gate codes, advance notice. Call ahead so move day isn't held up at the gate or the front desk.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule LADWP and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
Do I need a parking permit in Encino?
Sometimes. Encino is part of the City of Los Angeles, so reserving curb space for a moving truck means a temporary no-parking permit from LADOT — we'll tell you when booking if your block needs one. Flatland Encino driveways are usually roomy enough that no permit is needed, but Ventura Boulevard blocks and tight hill streets in the Encino Hills sometimes call for one; we handle the posting either way.
Can you handle gated estate and Encino Hills moves?
Yes — Encino Hills estates are a regular part of our schedule. Gated entries, long driveways, and view homes with elevation changes between the gate and the front door. We coordinate access with property management, bring smaller trucks when the road calls for it, and our crews are used to long carries — all built into the quote up front.
Do you serve Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, and Lake Balboa too?
Yes. Tarzana, Sherman Oaks, Lake Balboa, Reseda, and Bel Air are all in our regular Encino service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these areas and Encino is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
