Local moves

From Balboa Island to Newport Coast

Newport Beach moves break into very different worlds. The Balboa Peninsula and Balboa Island are tight, narrow-street neighborhoods where the truck often has to stage on a main road and crews carry to the door with dollies. Lido Isle works the same way — the bridge gets you to the island, then it's all small streets.

Corona del Mar mixes beach cottages with full ocean-view estates. Newport Coast is gated luxury — every community has its own gate codes and access procedures. Newport Heights and West Newport are quieter residential areas with easier access.

We make the drive from our Pasadena base into Newport every week. Book with us and you get a crew that already knows the gated-community paperwork, the island-street logistics, and the right truck size for each block.

What we move

How we move in Newport Beach

Four Newport Beach move types we handle — island, coastal, gated, and luxury.

Balboa Island & Peninsula homes

Narrow island streets where the truck stages on the main road and crews carry to the door with dollies. We've done plenty of these — built into the quote up front.

Corona del Mar estates

Ocean-view homes with steep driveways, narrow side yards, and high-value furniture and art. We pad floors, wrap art, and move at a careful pace.

Newport Coast gated communities

Gated luxury communities with strict access procedures and gate codes. We confirm gate access and timing before move day so security has no surprises.

Lido Isle bridge moves

Lido has one bridge in and out, with small streets behind it. We bring the right truck size and stage carefully so we're not blocking residential traffic.

Prepare

10 tips to prepare for your Newport Beach move

A short checklist that keeps moving day on schedule and prevents the most common surprises.

01

Book early

Weekends and month-end dates fill up fast. Same-day is available, but booking 2-3 weeks ahead gives you the best crew options.

02

Get it in writing

Your booking confirmation should list date, arrival window, crew size, both addresses, and the agreed hourly rate. No surprises later.

03

Pack non-essentials first

Books, decor, closet items, off-season clothes — pack these days ahead. Label every box by room to speed up unloading.

04

Keep valuables with you

Jewelry, cash, passports, laptops, hard drives, medications, and house keys travel in your car — never the truck.

05

Reserve truck parking

Newport Beach island streets (Balboa, Lido) need careful truck staging, and gated communities (Newport Coast, Big Canyon) require gate codes and advance notice — coordinate 5-7 business days ahead.

06

Talk to your building manager

Newport Beach high-rises and gated communities have specific move-in time windows and elevator reservations. Give your HOA about a week of notice so the elevator and move-in window are locked in.

07

Update your address

USPS mail forwarding, bank, employer, subscriptions, delivery apps, and the DMV — knock these out the week before the move.

08

Clear walkways

Hallways, doorways, stairs, and the path from front door to truck. Quick prep that saves real time on move day.

09

Set utilities up early

Schedule Newport Beach Utilities and SoCalGas to turn on at the new place the day before — so you walk into a working home.

10

Pack a "first night" box

Chargers, toiletries, towels, sheets, snacks, basic tools, and a change of clothes. Keep it with you so you're not unpacking at 11pm.

FAQ

Common questions

Don’t see yours? Call (626) 600-0341.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are priced hourly, based on crew size, how much you’re moving, and the distance between addresses. Most 1-bedroom apartments wrap up in 3-4 hours; 2-bedrooms in 4-6; full homes in a day. We give you a flat quote up front based on your specific move, so you know the total before move day.
Do movers pack for you?
Yes. We offer full packing, partial packing (just the fragile or tricky stuff), or no packing at all. We bring all the boxes, tape, paper, and bubble wrap — no need to source your own. We label everything by room and keep a clear inventory so nothing gets lost in transit.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Your quote includes labor, truck, fuel, wrapping materials, and protection — the whole move. We don’t add surprise charges for stairs, long carries, or extra time we expected. If something changes that affects the price (an added couch, a blocked driveway), we tell you before we do the work, not after.
What should I know about high-rise and gated-community moves?
Towers and gated communities run on logistics: freight-elevator reservations, posted move-in windows, gate codes, and loading-bay timing. We coordinate it all with building management or your HOA before move day so the crew isn't held up at the gate or the dock. Give your building about a week of notice so the elevator and your move-in window are locked in.
Can you handle Balboa Island and Lido Isle moves?
Yes — island moves on Balboa and Lido are a regular part of our Newport schedule. The truck stages on the main road or bridge, and we carry to the door with dollies. Works fine, just takes a bit longer than a curbside move. Built into the quote up front.
Do you serve Corona del Mar, Newport Coast, and Big Canyon?
Yes. Corona del Mar, Newport Coast, Big Canyon, and the Fashion Island area are all part of our regular Newport Beach service area at the same flat rates. Moving between these areas and other parts of Newport is the same job for us — short drive, same crew.
